Linus was found abandoned in eastern Suffolk County in September of 2018 with an injury to his mouth. His injury had been worse than anticipated. He had a hole through his jaw and chin. He was not able to eat on his own but wanted snuggles and kisses despite the pain he must have been feeling.
Linus spent a few nights in a medically equipped foster home where he started to show signs of improvement. He started eating on his own, taking his medicines well and enjoyed lots of love from volunteers.
At a trip to the vet to assess his wounds, it was discovered that he’s 5-7 years old, he’s missing a tooth, has jaw damage and evidence of past abscesses. Knowing Linus did not have much time, one of the group’s directors decided to take him back to her house for as much fun and love as possible, as long as he stays comfortable.
Defying his odds, Linus has been a spunky (some say “spicy”) guy in his foster home. He started to exhibit extreme hormonal behavior but was neutered in November and feels great now. He said he feels so good he wished he had gotten neutered sooner.
