ROCCO
Rocco had a Rocky start. Unbeknownst to his original owner he was born with a digestive disorder called megacolon or “cow poop syndrome”. Long Island Rabbit Rescue took him in upon hearing he hadn’t eaten in 6 days which would typically be a deadly situation, however, Rocco pulled through, as he must have done many times during his 5 year old life.
He’s still shy but becoming friendlier and more confident every day. He has a bit of an OCD paw-licking habit and is putting on weight as the veterinarian has instructed. Not much is known of his condition but as long as he’s eating and pooping and acting his normal quirky self, we feel blessed to have him in our care. Anyone considering adopting him would need to keep a close watch on his diet, administer his aloe juice daily, which he loves, and be sensitive to any changes in his litter-box situation or behavior.
