What is Rabbit Rescue?

We are Long Island Rabbit Rescue Group: an all-volunteer organization based on Long Island, New York.

We rescue abused, neglected or abandoned domestic rabbits. We have them medically treated, spayed or neutered, and we prepare them to be socialized companions. We then work to place them in loving, indoor homes.

Through education, we improve companion rabbits’ lives by helping people better understand these fragile, sensitive, yet ultimately affectionate and interactive creatures.

Rabbits are the third most popular—and abandoned—pet in the US. Our team responds to hundreds of calls per year regarding abandoned or unwanted rabbits, but we are barely scratching the surface. So through advocacy, we seek to stem the tide of more rabbits being bred and sold than there are permanent homes for them.

We are wholly and gratefully sustained by your donations.
